Joanna Stylianou was born in Darwin, Australia, on September 12th, 1989. She was awarded with an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Wolverhampton, (UK). She further pursued her postgraduate level studies by acquiring an LLM in Public International Law from Melbourne Law School, (University of Melbourne, Australia) and completing a special Course on Contract Law, (Contract Law: From Trust to Promise to Contract) by Harvard University.
Joanna is a member of both the Cyprus Bar Association and the Board of the European Women Lawyers Association, reflecting her dedication to advancing the legal profession and advocating for women in law. A passionate advocate for social justice, she has long been engaged in civic and political matters. With extensive experience in the legal field since 2013, Joanna has worked as an In-house Lawyer and Legal Associate, handling a wide range of cases across multiple practice areas, including Litigation, Immigration, Conveyancing, Contract Law, and Real Estate.
In 2021, she was appointed as a Lawyer at the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus, during which time she represented the Attorney General before the Supreme Court of Cyprus, the Administrative Court, and the Administrative Court of International Protection, gaining in-depth experience and demonstrating strong expertise in public, administrative, and international protection law. Driven by a commitment to excellence and a desire to provide tailored legal advice, Joanna established her own firm, Joanna Stylianou Law Firm.
